Paul Ryan - [2011]
These works comprise Paul Ryan's first cycle of full-length releases, forming an interconnected trilogy exploring modern alienation, philosophy, memory, love and doubt. The records which feature 7 singles including ‘The Divine Sky’, ‘Finger on Destruction’, ‘Danielle’, ‘Multitudes’, ‘Worth the Know’, ‘Longed for Life’, and ‘Heart Sunk Without You’ - demonstrate the thematic range and literary focus of Ryan's songwriting.
‘Lost at War’ was an isolated release in 2023, which was also lyrically ambitious - but did not fit in with the release catalogue of any full length record.
Paul has also noteably headlined several established independent venues across Birmingham, UK including the Night Owl, Digbeth and Hare & Hounds, Kings Heath - providing intimate sets, in collaboration with Olivia Thomson.
Paul is also planning to release an official book version of his completed trilogy of albums which will consist of lyric sheets, official notes, recording documentation, unseen photographs, in a deluxe package signed as a limited release.
Paul Ryan - [The Night Owl, Eyes of an Enemy Live 2026]

Paul Robert Ryan (b. July 2nd, 1987) is a songwriter whose work is defined by lyrical restraint, moral inquiry, and long-form coherence across albums. (The Paul Ryan Trilogy) consists of The Divine Sky (2024), Eyes of an Enemy (2025), Silent Sun (2026). They form a connected lyrical trilogy exploring faith, fracture, and reconciliation.
Paul Ryan's songs are built on minimalism, ethical tension, and carefully compressed language. His writing has developed as a single arc rather than isolated records.
His current work reflects a songwriter no longer concerned with escalation, but with clarity and permanence.
Live performance of "Worth the Know" and "Longed for Life" with Olivia Thomson in 2025.
EYES OF AN ENEMY ALBUM REVIEWS:
“Never demonstrative, but never in the background, the songwriting imposes its mark without forcing itself - a very beautiful album, the antithesis of our times with their claimed vulgarity.” Le Village Pop
“This record shows where Paul is now — it doesn’t try to sound big or dramatic. It leans into restraint, with raw acoustic textures and an atmosphere that unfolds with confidence.” BoredCity
“This is an album that wants you to sit with it rather than dip in and out — a slow burn that reveals deep emotional textures when you listen closely.” RGM
